The Cowboy’s Marriage Bargain

A cowboy with a struggling ranch

…and she has the perfect solution

To pull his ranch out of a downward spiral, widowed cowboy Chase Cross will do anything—even if it means making a deal with the woman he can’t stand. Because Lexi Gardner’s about to inherit a fortune…if she marries in thirty days. A marriage of convenience is the answer to both their problems. But when their bargain begins to feel real, will they put aside their differences for a future together?

I have been counting down the days for this to release and am now counting the days until Deborah Clack’s next story comes out. The author has the rare ability to pivot from intense to witty and back again making this one of the best debuts I’ve read. If you like strong heroes who can admit weakness, and generous heroines who don’t take prisoners, you’ll love this.

Insider Author Bit:

When I sat down to write The Cowboy's Marriage Bargain, I really wanted to explore what it would take for a marriage of convenience to work. What would it take for two people to really honor one another under the pressure of their circumstances? Apparently it takes a cranky hero, a generous heroine, and a dog who knows where his loyalty lies.

original working title: The Veteran's Ranch

The funniest moment when writing this book: One night, I brainstormed revisions with a brilliant friend of mine. Around midnight, she said, "You just have to plug this plot hole with something that makes sense." After a pause, we burst out laughing. We got absolutely no work done after that. I wrote out her words on a notecard, and it's now taped to my wall. I vow to try my hardest not to plug plot holes with things that DON'T make sense.
